About this event

From The Mothers of Tiananmen to the Daughters of Hong Kong, Tibet, Uyghur and Taiwan

This exhibition commemorates the 35th anniversary of the Tiananmen Massacre. We cannot afford to forget it because the victims and their families have not got justice. Many of the families are still suffering from the oppression of the Chinese authorities.

Our concerns cannot stop with the Chinese victims and their families. This is because the Chinese authorities’ control and infiltrate not only within their territories but around the world.

The people of Tibet and Uyghur have been suppressed for decades, and lost their independence and freedom, then Hong Kong was systematically destroyed, Taiwan will be next, even though it’s a democratic nation.

How much longer will the world be forgetful, ignorant and silent?

We are very grateful to individuals, businesses and organisations who stand by us, offering archive material, artworks, refreshments, plus time and energy to make it happen.

We would like to invite you to see the exhibition, be inspired by the archives and artwork, engaging with interactive activities. Perhaps, by reflecting on the theme, you would like to effect change. Together, we can make a difference.

We refuse to forget;
We will take back our freedoms!
